PM rebukes Hindraf over noisy Raya visit
Fauwaz Abdul Aziz | Oct 6, 08 6:32pm
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi expressed ‘disappointment’ with the manner in which Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) activists ‘visited’ the ministerial Hari Raya ‘open house’ last Wednesday.

Instead of extending greetings to the hosts and other guests and acting in “the spirit of Hari Raya”, Abdullah suggested that the activists had abused their admission and caused “a lot of unhappiness” among those present.

“I feel disappointed, actually,” he told a press conference after chairing a meeting with members of the International Advisory Panel to the Malaysia Biotechnology Corporation at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.

pm open house 011008 small hindrafAbdullah said that, as the host, he had allowed about 200 Hindraf activists into the event at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, as such occasions are meant for both Muslims and non-Muslims to celebrate.

“We don’t prevent any group from coming to our open house, to wish Selamat Hari Raya, and to mix with other guests. This is the spirit of Hari Raya,” he said.

“Why should I prevent Malaysians from coming to our open house? It’s open for everybody, even tourists and non-Malaysians who came in big numbers.”

However, he said the activists’ entry into the hall where the main reception was held was accompanied by a lot of noise”, due in part to their sloganeering over the Internal Security Act (ISA) [AABzzz u were upstars…I was there… so were my BlogBros…. NONE of us heard slogan once Hindraf bros & sis were in…. u calling us liars???] and demands for the release of their leaders currently being detained.

“What I was told by someone who was observing … behind me [is there where Botak was hiding???? or was it the same muthafucka who dragged each of us away b4 we could finish our words????] , was ‘Pak Lah, did you realise that only one of them said Selamat Hari Raya to you?’,” said Abdullah, adding that they had failed to shake hands even with other cabinet ministers.[firstly, we were being dragged off before finishing with you & the crowd of bodyguards & photographers were so overwhelming… u think we still wanna talk to the rest of them??… 2ndly, some of us were just keeping it real…as we dodn’t feel like shaking their hands… cannot ah?….. You got tedy bear, Raya Card, flowers from some loveliest kids in Malaysia… who’s parent u fucken detained!!! NOT Raya ENUFFF????]

“The rest (of their words), which I heard very clearly, was, ‘Abolish the ISA! Free the Hindraf! Abolish the ISA! Free the Hindraf!’ That’s all they wanted to tell me. This is not the spirit of Hari Raya, where you wish (Selamat) Hari Raya, are happy and have fun and socialise.” [IF u have a brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew, friend being detained without trial… & deepavali is near… how much of a Selamat Hari Raya do u expect????]

Action ‘won’t be taken’

Abdullah said the Hindraf crowd created “a lot of unhappiness to a lot of people who were around”.

He said, however, that “there is no report (to warrant) severe action” against the activists for their conduct.

Hindraf has since lodged police reports against Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar, Malay-language daily Utusan Malaysia and several Malay-based NGOs over ‘false allegations and reports’ on the event.

p waytha moorthyEarlier today, Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy had issued a statement in which he took to task Utusan Malaysia and private television station TV3 for ‘biased and invalidated’ reporting.

“This was a clear to invoke racial tension,” said Waythamoorthy, who is in self-imposed exile in the UK.

He also noted that Hindraf’s previous pleas for a dialogue with the prime minister have fallen on deaf ears.

“The open house is the only day in the year a commoner can make the acquaintance of the PM personally and Hindraf took the liberty to send a clear message – release all prisoners held unjustly without trial, in spirit of forgiveness,” he added.

Five Hindraf leaders, including his brother Uthayakumar, were detained under the ISA on Dec 13 last year after organising a mammoth rally in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 25. This saw some 30,000 Indian Malaysians protesting against perceived marginalisation and discrimination.

Hindraf is fuck off and they should be categorise as terorrist like what American label Muslim organization as terorrist. Why Government so fear to declare it? If Tun still the PM, I’m very sure most of them already in Kamunting detention center.
I think the Malay should revenge and do the same thing during Thaipusam celebration and see how they feel. Hindraf is already at Pelampau stage, no more respect, already kurang ajar. 1st hari raya is a great day to all Muslim and they totally disrespect the entire Muslim ummah. They thing with the associated with their brothers DSI, they feel they are great, super power..pirahh.

what are you going to do when Syed Hamid tell lies during the holy month of Rahmadan? revenge for Muslims?

what are you going to do when Saifol’s bohong sumpah in a Masjid? revenge for Muslims?

what are you going to do when MPAJ demolish a Hindu temple? revenge for Hindus?

what are you going to do when C4 blow up a Mongolian? revenge for Mongolians?

you must be damn busy all your life….revenging!!

maybe you have been hiding under the UMNO’s filhty underwear for 51 years and didn’t know that we are already heading towards the 21st century. fikirlah betul betul.

Pak Sako…. u r entitled to your opinions & be as harsh as u want… i wouldn’t have whacked u if it’s simply me disagreeing wif your stance….

    but your arguments r so flawed though… so u r asking 4 it….

How many would u suggest Kamunting can hold…. hv u seen or been with the Hindraf crowd? r u suggesting the wives & kids be thrown in as well?

The bloggers were there too at PWTC…. maybe u should suggest we join RPK as well…. trust me it won’t even be the most original idea….

Thaipusum? Deepavali is nearer lah…. goto the nearest Indian household, give them a teddy bear, flowers & a nive card… BUT DON”T wish them happy deepavali…. try that…. i’m sure u will still get a friendly hug…. otherwise, delCapo will offer u one ….hahahaha

Go back to your fucken cave lah!

ps: Storm…. i like u, bro…. but u r on d borderline here…. lets not go down to their level, ya

Thanks for clarifying that no one shouted slogans when they shook hands with our PM.
By the way, if the event was funded with government funds i.e. tax money, it was a rakyat event.
Everyone is welcome. (Even if the funding was via allotment for open house, again, it was Rakyat’s funds).

I believe you got it wrong. Hindraf HAS to use the proper channels i.e. file police reports, make complaints to the Home Ministry about fake/fraudulent news stories.

Then provide these comparative data for international watchdogs like the UN, etc. If an UMNO member files a police report, it is acted upon immediately. Even if the person arrested is a journalist reporting what she heard at a political meeting.
Also, proof has to be shown that when RPK issued a legal summons to our Home Minister, he was arrested.
A few hours prior to judicial review of the action of the Police for the arrest of RPK under ISA, the same Home Minister signed off on a directive changing RPK’s ISA detainment from a Police action to a Ministerial action. With the blessing of Tun Mahathir who changed the ISA regulations so that Ministerial decisions are beyond the scope of the Judiciary, RPK will not rot in Kamunting.

By the way, how does the Executive & the Legislature allow a law to be beyond the scope of review by their equal partner the Judiciary. MAN, looks like the Tun committed Sedition by overthrowing the Legislature & the Judiciary. Now lesser mortals will arise to the throne. Pak Sako will be there to wave the flag saying that it is appropriate.

The rest of us, will mutter over our coffee at the Mamak stall whilst watching football, etc. Then go home and say, I spoke in solidarity with RPK and all other warriors. Now time to sleep, as work beckons 2moro.

Challenge all of you. Dont go to work on Friday. Stay home, dont buy anything.
AVOID any organization/shop that belongs to a known UMNO supporter for a week.
Make a difference, make this a NIKE moment. JUST DO IT!
