RPK Sedition Case – Day 1 at PJ Courts *UPDATED*

Proceedings today ended at about 4pm after Chandra informed the court that he would need some time to prepare for further cross-examination of Harme on the technical aspects of this witness’s testimony relating to the workings of the internet.

Judge was displeased with the prosecution’s late disclosure of documents to the defence and secured the confirmation of the prosecution that all documents intended for use at the trial have been disclosed.

Upon inquiry by the court, the prosecution confirmed that they would be marshalling up 6 witnesses.

The hearing resumes tomorrow at 9am.

just when we think they cannot surprise us anymore…. the Cabinet today issued an order to “Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) to reinstate access to all blocked websites including Malaysia Today”

I wonder what other sites are they unblocking…

I have had the chance to read the statutory declaration that has been put up on the website of Malaysia Today. I confirm that it is a true copy of my statutory declaration. I will now confirm that the contents of the statutory declaration is correct.

I had gone on leave. There was a lot of pressure on me. I am now back in Malaysia. There has been a lot of media statements in Malaysia made by various individuals.

Some of these statements have put me in a bad light both professionally and as a person. Please be assured that I had merely done my job as a doctor. I am not involved in politics. I will always tell the truth.

I have never at any time breached my professional ethics. I have always practised doctor patient confidentiality.”

Information Minister Shabery Cheek said MCMC must have its reasons for blocking Malaysia Today.

“I am aware of the issue but it is not under my jurisdiction,” he said.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said sensitive issues should be discussed within the perimeters of law.

If need be, he added, they should be done behind closed doors.

Citing the recent Bar Council forum on ‘Conversion to Islam’ as an example, the minister said it was ‘stupid and foolish’ as the open dialogue bothered people’s emotions.

He then added that the Bar Council is unable to understand the feelings of Muslims as they are not Muslims. (What The Fuck!?!?!?! Can some Malay lawyer brothers or sisters pleeeease spit on him)
