Here’s the story so far..

Selvachandran (Selvach) was in the lock-up the same time when Gunasegaran was in for suspected drug offences.

He was 1 of 4 to witness Gunasegaran being beaten up… and subsequently found dead. (Follow this lnk to the story)

He volunteered to testify as a witness in the inquest for Gunasegeran’s death in custody / police brutality case.

Post inquest, he was dragged out of his home, beaten up in front of his family and taken away. No news of him since.

The rakyat and human rights activists, led by Suaram and Latheefa Koya organised the 301010 gathering to hand over a memo to our new IGP at Bukit Aman and demand for news of Selvach.

Yesterday, Selvach’s wife got a visit from 4 police officers to supposedly take her statement. She refused them entry to her home (do you blame her?)

This morning, backed by around 100 people from Suaram, Pakatan Rakyat leaders, MIC youth (good to see them, for whatever reasons motivated them to be there), activists and the rakyat from all walks of life, she managed to get some answers.

Selvach is apprently held under Emergency Ordinance for drug-related reasons. His investigating officer’s name and number was given to the lawyers present (no answer when they tried to call him).

It is interesting to note the following (besides the EO being, like the ISA, against International standards for human rights):

- Selvach has NEVER been tested positive for drugs

- Selvach has never been convicted for drugs related offences

- The police only notify ANYBODY in the public of the reason for his detention this morning at 11.30am (after much pressure)

- The police only visited his home for “statement” yesterday evening (hmmmm…. anybody else smell some shit?)

Malaysia’s Most Dangerous – the Witness

Why else would there be widespread fear for the safety of the only witness to the multibullets shooting of  15-year old Amirulrasyd and call for his protection?

Why else will a person who goes into an anti-corruption investigation to assist investigation be dead the next day?

Why else will an eye witness who volunteers to testify in court to help seek justice for a fellowman be beaten up and abducted?

In Malaysia, if you seek justice and truth, if you are a witness to any crime or investigations… you better watch out!

The people must demand justice for Kugan, Amirulrasyd, Beng Hock, Guna and all the other police-related deaths.

Now, we must also demand for the release of Selvachandran, before he joins the “1805″ list.

The continuing descent of the Malaysian police force into lawlessness has been graphically demonstrated by the October 25th abduction and beating of K.Selvachandran by police personnel. Selvachandran was a key witness who testified against the police in the recently concluded R.Gunasegaran inquest. On the very day the verdict was delivered in the inquest, police moved against Selvachandran. When Selva’s children asked police why their father was being dragged away, the police answered by beating Selva in front of his own children. The trauma caused to the children is unimaginable and in gross violation of international norms on the protection of children. In a twisted perversion of conjugal love, police personnel tried to make Selva’s wife S.Saraswathy kiss him before beating him up in front of her. Selva, who did his duty as a citizen by telling the truth at the Gunasegaran inquest, is now being held at a unknown location with no access to his family or lawyers. It is believed that he is being detained without trial under the Emergency Ordinance. The outrage done against Selva and his family is only the latest in a long series of police brutality cases going back into and beyond the Mahathir despotism.

100 stories don’t make a 100-storey right

PM announced the 100-storey Warisan Merdeka (I like how Patrick Teoh calls it a  tombstone…hahahaha) in parliament during Budget 2011.

Then the public outcray all over the place, including a facebook page that grew to 62,000 + in 3 days...

This is despite someone reporting the site to Facebook admin and Facebook blocking the page from it’s admin (cannot make changes) as well as made it unsearchable. btw..Hey Facebook – Fuck You! and your big brother style administration.

Anyway…

So the PM panicked and gave some lame explanation… followed by PNB’s own statements about how the RM5 billion will not be from the government or the people (isn’t it the same thing?… strange lah our country) but from PNB.

ok… leaving aside the arguments about how the RM5 billion can be better spent on public transport, helping the poor from Sabah Sarawak and Peninsula, the environment, sustainable reseach etc….

deCapo has a simple question.

If the money is not from the government / rakyat and is from PNB or whoever  Rosie, Jho, Rob or Doug friends bring in from wherever then it is a private project (like Naza’s Platinum park ) – WHY THE HELL WAS IT TABLED AS PART OF BUDGET 2011!?!?!?!

Some say it’s a political blunder by the PM (APCO must kena warning letter already)… and now he is struggling with damage control and using PNB to block.

Some say that it’s a red herring for the Sungei Besi airbase land to be fished out to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) on the side.

Some say it’s wayang kulit for Jibby to finally say (when the time is right)… “ok… the people say no, I cancel… so vote for BN in GE13 “

Whatever lah…. Rakyat dah bangun da… we are not stupid.

delCapo hope they will cut all the games and crap… no need for wayang kulit stories and political consciousness….  just bring justice and closure to his family.

And the new IGP will STOP all unjust police-related deaths.. on the field and in custody!!!
